As the 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations kick-off, Higher{Education and Training Minister, Dr Nobuhle Pamela Nkabane, has reminded all matriculants to seize the chance to make an application for funding in the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
"The applying window will shut on fifteen December 2024, and you will find not many days left to submit applications. Eligible students are urged to apply immediately to secure financial support for their post-school education," Nkabane said.
Nkabane extended well wishes to all matriculants, who sat for the National Senior Certificate Examinations, with learners writing languages, English and Afrikaans Paper three.
Nkabane mentioned this pivotal moment marks the end result of years of effort and encourages the Class of 2024 to approach their tests with determination and self-confidence.
With Just more than 880 000 candidates, including 727 121 full-time and 155,215 part-time candidates from across South Africa sit for this calendar year's matric examinations, across South Africa, Basic Education Minister, Siviwe Gwarube, has assured the public of your department's preparedness to administer the examinations easily.
Nkabane highlighted a range of alternatives readily available in the Post-School Education and Training (PSET) system, which can be open up to all matriculants trying to check here get even further schooling and skills development.
The PSET system consists of:
• Community Education and Training (CET) colleges: Featuring skills development and general education nsfas application for students who want to carry on learning.
• Technical and Vocational mynsfas Education and Training (TVET) colleges: Focusing on practical skills and technical knowledge nsfas to equip students for employment and self-employment.
• Higher Education institutions: Universities and higher education providers offering degree and diploma programmes.
